One of the benefits of visiting Rochester, N.Y., last week was a short tour of the city's storied Mount Hope Cemetery, where two of the world's most illustrious troublemakers are buried: Frederick Douglass and Susan B. Anthony. Inspiring.
Mr Kisor, What a delightful lecture! I felt very fortunate to be able to attend your lecture. I am a hearing woman who works in a public library near Rochester, and I was impressed with the questions posed to you (and, of course, with your honest and wise responses). Your love and deep appreciation of language, and the essential importance of the ability to effectively express oneself, was clearly communicated. Thank you for writing, for supporting reading, and for lecturing in person. What an honor to meet you and your wonderful wife. Thank you. Sincerely, Patty Good from Brockport, NY respect2deaf@yahoo.com
Henry - so how did the teaching experience go? Is there hope for journalism? Did the co-eds swoon at your words of wisdom?
ReplyDeleteThe experience interacting with students and faculty was exceedingly gratifying. I'm very glad I did it and will do it again anytime.
