I think we've got 'er now

The original cover idea for my mystery novel Cache of Corpses simplified, with a snippet of topo map suggesting the location of a body inserted into the window of the enlarged GPS receiver. I think this'll work for the e-book version. Thanks to all for your suggestions.

Yesterday I finished applying all the hardcover publisher's edits to the electronic manuscript of Cache and have started sending it out to volunteer proofreaders. (If you volunteered but haven't been contacted, that's because I don't have your e-mail address; please send that to me.)

  1. Yes, Henry, you've got it now!

  2. You were better off with a pistol on the cover. I mean who really gives a shit about a location on a map without a big fat X marking a pirate's treasure?

  3. And did I say that it's harder to read the title now? At least to my eye. The letters of title against the yellow background before was totally legible. Not now. For another thing, there's no threat to a bland-looking cell phone with a map of no particularly recognizable coast line. "Little Girl's Point"? I think this is a case of needing to read the story to understand the headline. Sorry to be a bringdown. But I hope you re-rethink it.

  5. If it's any consolation, my wife likes the cover with the cell phone on it. And she's smarter than me.

  6. I guess those of us who own a gps unit know that is what is on the cover, not a cell phone. But I get the problem.
